Если в смысле машину эвакуируют, если она, например, припаркована неправильно, то это towing. Обычная формулировка в таких случаях - unauthorized/unattended/incorrectly parked vehicles will be towed.

Я бы сказал remove/removal - везде подойдет, имхо.
С towed away согласен, но можно и без away - сто раз видел собственными глазами в Штатах. Потому и цитирую :-)

TM, do you know what exacly "tow" means? I.e., what means of removal this term implies? U sure a vehicle is TOWED after a crash?

Slava - The wisdom lies within the semantics of the word... It is TOWED from the crash site, right? By any neans necessary. So i dont see why this verb is inappropriate here.. Moreover, in my mind that's the job of the policemen, so as for me, i dont consider that the phrase like "My car was towed by NYPD", for instance, is weird and may cause a coupla quizzical eyewinks.

Well, I'm not sure "tow" can be used figuratively in this context. If towing is what they actually do, fine. I may be wrong, though.

"Tow" is a catch-all verb. It could be used both in situations when the "vihicle was towed because it was parked illegally" and situations when "a totaled vehicle had to be towed (away) after a wreck."
