контекста увы нет. Это всего лишь название курсовой работы по менеджменту (в списке предметов, в дипломе). "Power and Sense-making." - вот так выглядит данная фраза.

Предлагаю вариант "Влияние объема полномочий на оценку ситуации"

Вот нагугленный контекст, из которого исхожу:
To address these queries, I (along with Frances Milliken and Joe Magee) draw on the psychological theories of power and construal and cognitive theories of sense-making to examine the relationship between power and sense-making. Cognition scholars have argued that people shape an interpretation or representation of events by making .sense. of information they receive. This representation, in turn, shapes their responses. The amount of power that a person possesses may act as a .lens. through which such information is filtered, and subsequently his/her subsequence may be affected. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, my co-authors and I were intrigued by the seeming contradiction between the positive comments from the country.s leaders and the images of suffering of Hurricane Katrina victims. We conjectured that power affects one.s interpretation of events during the disaster such that the language that high-power individuals used to describe occurrences relating to Hurricane Katrina tended to be more abstract (vs. concrete), future-oriented (vs. past-oriented), positive (vs. negative), and certain (vs. uncertain). To test the hypotheses, we conceptualize a hierarchy of power among the group of actors who participated in the disaster relief based on a combination of their formal authority and control over resources needed for aid. Using quotations culled during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina from people ranging from the President to victims of the disaster, we analyzed individual.s speech from these quotations employing both manual and computer-based text analysis methods. Both techniques of analysis provided support for our hypotheses. This study contributes to the power and sense-making literature by showing that power can create a potential .sense-making gap. between high- and low-power individuals. interpretation of events. Thus, if high-powered managers attempt to respond to a situation using a representation of events that is contrary to the representations formed in their subordinates. minds, they may be ineffective in leading those who are lower in power.
