My friends went (have gone) away five minutes ago. |

Past Indefinite. |
Даже если one minute ago? |

We use the Present Perfect when we talk about something that happened in a period of time UP TO the PRESENT Past Simple when .....about something that happened at particular, finished time in the PAST |

Даже если just now. |
И не только seconds, minutes, hours ...A wife ago, a cigarette ago ...
В случае с just now будет Present Perfect. |

Насчет just now не уверен :) He has just gone out. |

Just и just now это разные вещи, вообще-то. |

PAST SIMPLE When we want to indicate that something happened at a specific time in the past, we use the past simple. We can either say when it happened, using a time adverb, or assume the hearer already knows when it happen or can understand it from the context. Ex: She ARRIVED at Kennedy Airport at 2 o'clock this morning. Some adverbs that connect the past to the present are often used with the PRESENT PERFECT: Ex: Don't disturb Ann. She's JUST GONE to sleep (not....she just went to sleep)
