Уважаемые коллеги, разбирающиеся в медицине, пожалуйста, объясните, что такое "positive secular trend". Предложение ПЕРЕВОДИТЬ НЕ НУЖНО.
Контекст: Due to the possibility of a bias resulting from secular trends affecting spontaneous reporting of adverse reactions in the period considered (from 1997, for ХХХ and ХХХ, to 2000 for ХХХ), we looked at the yearly global report rate during this period. In all cases except renal toxicity, the highest incidence was observed with ХХХ, even after adjustment for the positive secular trend in the overall number of adverse reaction reports.
ХХХ- название препарата.
