have you ever seen wholegrain pasta - its mid to dark brown in colour, sort of like.. brown bread? So I shouldn't be surprised about dark plum, tho berries is a bit over the top

BTW, biology is an optional subject in UK schools (as well as US ones so far as i'm aware), so most people wouldn't know the difference between berry and grain/kernel. Wheat grains are often called berries. But then many people think panda is a bear!
