have you ever seen wholegrain pasta - its mid to dark brown in colour, sort of like.. brown bread? So I shouldn't be surprised about dark plum, tho berries is a bit over the top |
BTW, biology is an optional subject in UK schools (as well as US ones so far as i'm aware), so most people wouldn't know the difference between berry and grain/kernel. Wheat grains are often called berries. But then many people think panda is a bear! |
