Subject: tax recapture
Evening!

Could someone help with the Russian for "tax recapture"?

Context:
arises from a tax liability which was previously not recognized

Thanks!

Please take a look at the bullet points at the bottom of the page:
http://www.ey.com/global/content.nsf/Russia/Tax_&_Legal_-_Success_Stories

Is this what you are looking for? If yes, then I think it's "доначисление налога".
I must admit I am not an expert on this stuff!!

Sue, can we have your context please?
Also, where does come from: business accounting (say, under the GAAP or IAS) or tax accounting (in Russia)?

The translation could depend on that. Thanks.

And frankly, that's odd, because recature is a benefit, NOT an extra/further accrual. You sure it's a carryover?

Sjoe!

Thing is, I am not familiar with this term and am trying to study up on some things. The context I gave is the definition I was given. So who knows. It is from a textbook on taxation. The book is adapted for Rus tax purposes. Logically, the term doesnt seem like a liability to me either. But I am working with the definition I was given. Time to do some more research (not using this book)!

Aha... so I just found this http://collegesavings.about.com/od/glossarydefinitions/g/tax-recapture.htm

Hmmm.. now how to say that in Russian?

доначисление налога is an additional tax assessment (additional tax charge)... could they be one and the same thing in essence?

Susan if you follow http://collegesavings.about.com/od/glossarydefinitions/g/tax-recapture.htm it's "donachislenie" all right; this far the only Russian term that covers both expired tax credit (your website here), underpaid tax, etc. That is, the extra taking of everything that is supposed to end up in the national treasury (sometimes it does).

Still, could you give here your sentence with recapture?

(I'm asking because Title 17 of your USC treats the term quite differently. Just in case, you cant refer to a website; the IRS will cite to the law in tax court :))

Susan,

I have talked to our accounting people. They looked at both the definition of a tax recapture you found at http://collegesavings.about.com/od/glossarydefinitions/g/tax-recapture.htm
and the bullets on the E&Y page I came across yesterday. They say the bullets are examples of a tax recapture if one applies the definition you found.
