Подскажите как в данном контексте перевести слово "продолжаться":

ХХХ отметил, что в январе-сентябре текущего года продолжилась тенденция реального роста производства, стабильного развития экономики и улучшения макроэкономического положения страны.

Мой вариант:
ХХХ pointed out that in January-September of 2008 there was stable progress towards increase in production, economic development and improvement of the macroeconomic situation in the country.

Однако мне кажется вариант не лучший.
