Postgraduate degrees

Doctoral degree (post-university) education gives an opportunity to upgrade the educational level and scientific and teaching qualifications on the basis of the higher education. Scientific doctoral degree education preserves two academic degrees:

"Kandidat nauk (Candidate of Science) - corresponds to Ph.D. degree;

Doktor nauk (Doctor of Science) - corresponds to higher, second doctoral degree.

The academic degree of Kandidat nauk (Candidate of Science) can be obtained in post-graduate courses called "Aspirantura", clinical studies courses, and military post-graduate courses organized in the leading educational institutions of higher education and scientific institutions. Graduates with Specialist's or Master's degree and creative achievements in scientific research are admitted to post-university courses."
