This appears somewhat akin to treating the Company as if it were a partnership, by assigning to each member a capital account and assigning to that account the participators share of any assets in which he is deemed to have invested (plus any revaluation etc.) As above as each of the shareholders are in fact exposed to the Company’s total trading position it appears somewhat difficult to see how this works if there are problems.

ИМХО, в данном контексте exposed to можно перевести как "зависят" (т.е., дивиденды акционеров фактически зависят от общего торгового оборота компании)
