Возьмите себе за правило читать статьи, которые, как может показаться, не имеют прямого отношения к той работе, которой вы занимаетесь.

мой вариант:
Take to yourself for a rule to read clauses which as can seem, have no the direct attitude to that work in which you are engaged.

for yourself to - нидада:) это плеоназм- redundancy here.
get into the habit + gerund.....- нидада в повелительно наклонени. sounds funny:) and makes 'em giggle. )
