богатая версия :)) |

TO: Inspirado Excuse me, vas means "vas deferens" and it means what I mentioned before. Why would you assume that veins are vas? And if you are not familiar with the issue why would you even bother? Also -ectomy = excision, -otomy = incision. Personally I don't know why would they call it vasectomy because technically tubes just get cut and then tied at the ends. May be a small part of the tubes actually gets removed (a very tiny part). Anyways, the good news is that the procedure is actually reversible and it's called vasovasostomy. |

By the way, there is no word "ectomized" so whoever wrote it is not a highly educated person, same with axed and tonsured - no such words. It's his own creation. |
to ksyusha123: sorry for late reply - I didn't your message till now. "ectomized" is also searcheble on the net. Try it urself and u ll be surprized ) |

To: inspirado (if you read it by any chance) and also sorry for late reply - being really busy lately Anyway, I can argue about ectomized - people can make up any word using latin as a base but in real life it has no right for existence. You would either say removed (which is how I would translate this into Russian) or use a name of organ + ectomy formula. To say ectomized is simply grammatically incorrect (not to mention unnecessary). Also could argue about vas and will even ask my Medical Terminology teacher who is a big pro just to make sure. While it's true that some of the medical short forms/abbreviations do repeat themselves this one would be very unusual. And thanks for replying - I am always enjoying a good discussion. Live and learn! |
ksyusha123, вы знаете, что такое stand-up comedy? |

What does that have to do with vasectomy? |
nothing. *in real life it has no right for existence*, *To say ectomized is simply grammatically incorrect (not to mention unnecessary)*, *will even ask my Medical Terminology teacher who is a big pro* ... Was your sense of humour (let alone the a feeling for language) shot off in the war? |
typo: "the a" :) |

To: nephew I don't see why my message is irritating you that much and what sense of humor if it's a medical term. Also if you would kindly describe what you mean by "shot off in the war" "feeling of language"? Because I am afraid I don't get it. Probably not smart enough. |
