"Формирование традиций норвежской государственности до революции 1905г."

Formative Age/Period of Norwegian Nationhood before/leading up to [the]1905 Revolution

there was hardly any revolution in Norway in 1905 so if Norwegians are going to read the translation it won't make any sense for them.

otherwise if you insist on revolution:

norwegian statehood coming into shape before the (revolution) in 1905.

but I strongly advise you to Google some Norwegian history, as the word "revolution" is never used in such context.

and probably "shaping Norwegian statehood" if there are certain events which contributed to such shaping (though definitely NOT a revolution)

Thank you. I was in doubt about word revolution also. I read that it's was "peacefull revolution", and in norwegian sourches it writes so: "I mange tilfeller ble 7.juni 1905 vedtaket behandlet som en revolusjon.". alsa it has name "revolution with pencil" "revolusjon med blyant".
But I'm agree that it's better to write "before the achievement of independence in 1905".

hm. there's a difference between statehood and nationhood. i would still write the former. as for traditions, i don't like the word in the context but google says that it's perfectly ok.

But what's is better to use here: statehood or nationhood? What's difference?

drop the "traditions". You DON'T have to and SHOULD NOT translate literally as it won't make sense, there is hardly any difference between statehood and nationhood, only the latter is very seldom used.
"shaping Norwegian statehood before 1905" would do nicely as a title, short and sweet.

difference.... statehood is about the status of state and nationhood is about the status of nation.))) quite simple, eh?))

may be in russian reality where nationality has always been a hot potato, but taking into consideration the fact that "Nationality" in the West actually means citizenship - nothing more nothing less. You can be Russian but German national, French but Swedish national etc. Happens all the time:)
What Russians mean by "nationality" is just "ethnicity".
