(Статья о росте объема слияний и поглощений)Со словом marquee удалось найти лишь Marquee asset (A company's most appealing asset. Also referred to as a trophy asset), но вот marquee company не удалось. В интернете упоминается в прямом значении - при описании компаний, производящих палатки и шатры. Может быть, это что-то типа umbrella company? Спасибо за любую помощь. |

| as far as i know, marquee in america means something cherished. so, here it means that investment funds are scooping up cherry-picked companies in the hope that the economy and corporate performance continue to go from strngth to strength. the term marquee is very rarely used now in its meaning to denote awnings or pavilions. maybe kath will settle this for us. tal' |
