Помогите перевести слово "маска" в контексте:

Я бы написала pattern, но словаре по IT встечается слово mask - его можно здесь употребить?

Это уж Вы чересчур. С чего бы?

Маска - это для маскирования битов, части полей и т.п.
А здесь по шаблону образуют имя. В оригинале вместо Маска должно стоять Шаблон.

Так мы же вроде про английский? В английском в этом контексте mask и pattern вполне взаимозаменяемы, хотя последний правильнее с точки зрения академика-пуриста. :-)
А что до оригинала, так это что, первый документ на фене? В стране всеобщее избирательное право, чиво Вы хочити…
