Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: Take 10 g aliquots of the substrate and add to 100ml of quarter strength Ringer's solution and shake vigorously. Using the spread plate technique, plate out 0.1ml volumes of this suspension on to each of five Brilliant Green agar plates. Incubate overnight, inverted, at 37C and count the pink colonies produced. Repeat this procedure after standing at room temperature for 24 hours.

Я предполагаю, но совершенно в этом не уверена, что of quarter strength Ringer's solution = раствора Рингера с четвертой долей крепости

Видимо раствор Рингера, разбавленный в пропорции 1:4.
