When a single bolt is to be torqued, one should try to reach some other bolt for the reaction socket.This bolt does not have to be of equal size as the one being torqued.The maximum distance for "normal" reaction force take-up is 300 m m.When the distance exceeds this one must arrange a fixed or solid reaction-force take-up contacting the tool as low as possible (bottom plate of tool).

по-моему, tooth здесь — деталь, которая закрепляется двумя болтами, и речь о том, что перед применением гидравлического гайковерта нужно точно совместить центры отверстий и для фиксации затянуть болты обычным ключом и молотком во избежание повреждения резьбы.
