Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:Modular construction will be used for housing, kitchen/dining, and office facilities, as well as utility plants. Modified shipping containers will be used for storage and to transport and house diesel engine-driven generators. Field erection will be used for the steel-framed sludge filter press building. Tents will be provided for the combined fire station and training hall and the combined equipment maintenance and warehouse area.

кстати, мультитран, off-line версия гласит:

field-erected boiler - котел, собранный на месте монтажа
field-erected - установленный на месте
field-erected tanks - резервуар, сооружённый в полевых условиях

имеется в виду, что все оборудование и facilities будут в основном модульно-блочного исполнения, но некоторую фигню соберут/построят прямо на поле.
