Фраза из раздела "NON-PAYMENTS OR DELAYED PAYMENTS" договора между Продавцом и Клиентом, по условиям которого Клиенту разрешается оплачивать товары в рассрочку.
Failure by the Client to honour even one instalment or diminish the security granted will automatically determine the expiry of the right to pay in instalments.

С моей точки зрения, должно быть написано что-то вроде этого:
Failure by the Client to honour even one instalment or ATTEMPTS TO diminish the security granted will automatically determine the expiry of the right to pay in instalments, т.к. "failure ... to diminish the security granted" - это же не так плохо для Продавца.

Боюсь, что путанно написала, но, может, кто-то менять все-таки понял?

Похоже там, действительно чего-то не хватает. Не будучи асом в юридических документах, не буду утверждать, что именно attempts, но в оригинале действительно diminish сочетается с failure, что выглядит нонсенсом.

Attempts я привела в качестве примера, но, мне кажется, там должно быть, что-то с таким оттенком. Значит, все-таки мне не показалось. М.б., есть еще мнения?

It could also be correct - without anything missing - if you treat the word 'security' to mean 'collateral security', which is something a debtor (or in your case, Client) offers to a lender (Seller) to secure the loan (effectively - payment in instalments). Therefore, your sentence may be viewed this way:

If the Client misses a payment or in some way diminishes (lowers the amount/value) of the security (collateral security) granted (that he, Client offered to Seller), then the Client will immediately loose the right to pay in instalments.

I could be wrong or this could be just bad drafting on the lawyers' part. Check the rest of the agreement and find out how the Client/Buyer secured the right to pay in instalments, ie, did he have collateral, pledge anything, etc.
