"First" они используют по назначениею.
Пример:
After 72- hour hold from the end of first part filtration until beginning the filling of final solution in vials (for WC and PV batch)

Я специально прошел по всему документу. В нем есть и "thirst", и "first".

По-моему все-таки это явная описка из разряда типовых школьных ошибок. По смыслу подходит first. Thirst явно не то.
