Подскажите, пожалуйста, что такое "closure of the facility" в данном контексте. Герметичность помещения???

Да, закрытие тюрьмы ) Уже додумалась ) Я знаю, что это такое, но, видимо, напереводилась сегодня ) что уже герметичность чудиться начала )

'Closure' here = 'ending its existence', not 'hermetically sealing it'.

Всякий раз, когда слыщу про тюрьму в Гуантанамо, вспоминаю песню, скорее бы уже только она напоминала об этом месте

Interesting. And the US media refer to it as 'Gitmo' -- from the designation of the nearby airfield (GTMO I think) + an 'i' inserted to turn it into a word = GiTMO.
