с точки зрения угла возвышения. it is not elevation point, but from the view point of elevation. dont translate each word seperately, view them in their surroundings, as locutions, instead. it is more productive this way. as for the rest of the sentence, it is hard to tell , for muzzles may mean a lot of things depending on the topic. salut

В рамках предоставленного контекста, имхо:
недостаток этого способа заключается в том, что при вертикальной наводке концы стволов находятся вне траектории [движения мишени] вплоть до того момента, когда они наводятся [непосредственно] на мишень.
