Снова стилистические приемы.

Добрый день, Уважаемые коллеги! У меня возникли вопросы по отрывку из романа "Escape" by Somerset Maugham.
Я выделила несколько предложений, в которых нашла стилистические приемы.
Проверьте , пожалуйста, правильно ли?
Предложения: 1. Not always that; for once a friend of mine, seeing the inevitable loom menacingly before him, took ship from a certain port (with a toothbrush for all his luggage, so conscious was he of his danger and the necessity for immediate action) and spent a year.travelling round the world; but when, thinking himself safe (women are fickle, he said, and in twelve months she will have forgotten all about me), he landed at the selfsame port the first person he saw gaily waving to him from the quay was the little lady from whom he had fled. Правильно, что информация в скобках -это parenthetic words?
so conscious was he - это complete inversion?
И есть ли в этом предложении detachment или suspense?
2. And when, having by the end of the evening lost a good deal of money to me, she said she would send me a cheque and never did, I could not but think that I and not she should have worn a pathetic expression when next we met.- не могу определить какой стил. прием здесь скрыт!
3. Roger introduced her to his friends. He gave her lovely jewels. He took her here, there, and everywhere. Their marriage was announced for the immediate future. - правильно я понимаю, что повторение слов her here, there, and everywhere - это Аллитерация?
4. Then, on a sudden, he fell out of love. - это pertial?

3. Это не аллитерация точно. Аллитерация -- это повторение согласных для усиления эффекта.

А еще вы спрашивали про иронию. Так вот, весь текст -- одна сплошная ирония над персонажем, который все это излагает, и над ему подобными идиотами, которых "юзают", а они еще и жалеют тех, кто их "юзает". Так что все приемы они только для усиления иронии.
