Linked можно. Или associated. Например:

Да, я сама тоже link применила, но, думаю, может, другие варианты есть. Спасибо!

'is associated with [not to]' or

'is linked to'.

Another possible synonym if you really want it: 'relates to'.

However, 'is associated with' / 'is linked to' are probably best.

"are probably best"

You've shaken the foundations of English in my mind.

Correct English in my humble opinion should be:

- are probably the best

- are probably best of all

"are probably best" is wrong English

Am I right or am I right or am I right or am I wrong?

Thank you

bredogenerator: Hmmm, that's a very good question but a difficult one to answer – I've been thinking about it for 15 minutes now! Strictly speaking, you may be right in that 'are the best' and 'are best of all' may be more correct than 'are best'.

However, 'x is best' and 'x and y are best' are both commonly used, to the point that they've become almost set expressions. I may be using slightly informal/shorthand English without realising it, but lots of people use 'is best' and 'are best' -- as this link demonstrates:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?lr=&as_qdr=all&biw=1152&bih=500&ei=jP89Xc_nFd-l1fAP7NG74AQ&q="which+is+best"+OR+"which+are+best"+-best-off+-best-ignored+-best-forgotten&oq="which+is+best"+OR+"which+are+best"+-best-off+-best-ignored+-best-forgotten&gs_l=psy-ab.12...10354.15617..19198...0.0..0.111.1478.17j2......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71.dHMKBGtZTVU&ved=0ahUKEwjP3e2ktNjjAhXfUhUIHezoDkw4ChDh1QMICg

Next time I'll put:

"However, 'is associated with' / 'is linked to' are probably better"

to avoid shaking your foundations!

* are best *

It seems that people have in mind 'better' but for some reason use 'best'. This is not the case when the article is (wrongly) omitted; it's the case when meanings of the words overlap to some extent, so one is morphing into another and used (subconsciously) instead of it.

What do you think, John?

best is not always the superlative of good. in John's sentence above, best meant " most appropriate, advantageous, or well advised."

"do whatever you think best" synonyms: most advantageous, most suitable, most fitting, most appropriate, most apt ;

and yet, this is a poor excuse to think that "Be Best" is good English ;) which it isn't.

Мне уже стыдно за свой пост. Достаточно было вспомнить East+or+west,+home+is+best.

Но я также узнал много нового. Всем огромное спасибо!

* Bohemian Rhapsody is Queen's best song *

Этот вариант не подходит в качестве примера обсуждаемого случая, т.к. здесь не нулевой артикул, а в качестве определителя используется Queen's.

bredogenerator: Don't be ashamed, it was a very good question.

I think this is an example of a construction which may be grammatically imperfect, but has nevertheless become part of standard English -- which is why I had to think about it for so long! The reasons are probably as given by Rus_Land and SirReal above: in some cases it's because it's being used in place of 'better', and in other cases it's because it means things other than 'most good', such as 'most appropriate' etc, with these ideas overlapping each other.
