Subject: Здравствуйте Лора,Мы не-получили счёт за 2005 год который должны были заплатить 30.08.05,последний платёж был 30.08.04 $60,000.$15,480 это не-дополнительный платёж,а часть из $60,000 соответственно договору номер 4,поэтому нет надобности создавать новый счёт . Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: Заранее спасибо |

Xорсть you need to relax, but i do agree that it is a bit much to just ask us all to give another free translation but really, maybe they just cant do it and have to for work.. how do we know? |

dear gogolesque, please extend your comments on FYI. Does it really sound rude? I see it used very often, just to let know that no action is required from the addressee. |

it really does sound rude to start an new sentence and new idea like this - and i also see it all the time, but it is one very common mistake i see foreigners make when they write business letters. YOu can say: For the future, you should know... there are many other ways to say it - jsut have to be creative and polite :) |

gogolesque, My guess that a05 was trying to ask (just my guess) is FYI sounds rude in general - outside of the context of Svetlana letter? |

Svetlana, пара комментариев: 1) Никто не обязан делать за Вас Вашу работу, и ни у кого нет большого желания делать ее за Вас целиком и полностью - поэтому большого смысла просить переводить целые фразы, а тем более абзацы - нет. 2) Тем не менее, гораздо больше вероятность, что Вам помогут отредактировать Ваш вариант перевода - про это Вам и писала gogolesque. А еще больше вероятность, что Вам помогут с непонятными словами или словосочитаниями... 3) Я бы на Вашем месте подумал о том чтобы поменять во-первых, способ задавать вопросы (манера, тон итп.), во-вторых - поменять ник - у этого уже ммм... не очень хорошая репутация. Первое - важнее, чем второе, ибо просто смена ника Вам не поможет ... 4) 4) если Вы не очень хорошо знаете язык, то есть два основных варианта: либо его учить, либо не заниматься переводами. |
| gogoesque, re FYI (I need to make it clear for myself): Can I use the abbreviation FYI (not the whole phrase) if for example I am forwarding somebody's e-mail to my colleague just to inform him/her of some events? Or even in this case it would be better to use some other phrases? As far as I know, FYI is used (at least in Russia) when you don't have much to write anything else.... |

Vo! Derzhite! Poluchila otvet: FYI is pretty widely accepted. But this is a good rule to follow: When you are emailing someone that you work with regularly, and are on pretty good terms with, FYI is fine. If you are emailing a group of people, or a person that you don't know that well, better to use "Please refer to the following" or "Please find the attached document" or something along that line I spite spokoyno :))) |

2 elvi hope you slept last night.. i left work beofer anyone replied to my comments about FYI for some reason, i dont know why, the abbreviation FYI is accepted as not being rude, but the whole phrase "for your information" is considered rude. my language is strange, i know! :) and Alina 1 gave a pretty good rule for use - props to Alina 1! |
