Here is an approach to translating this, since this way the instructions still describe the same motions. I would personally leave детренд in the first sentence, and change the rest, since it actually makes more sense this way in English.

To avoid edge effects, three separate (segregations) are made, with different starting positions for the segments. У Bас под рукой нет случайно работника данной сферы (к которой относится Bаш перевод):), которому можно будет описать метод детренда и спросить, существует ли подобний термин в русском?

Если подобной возможности нет, то может быть Вам его просто транслитерировать? Или использовать "дитенденцирование", т.к. "тенденция" используется в качестве статистического термина и в русском, хотя слово "тренд" тоже исполйзуется в (русской)статистике, и таким образом мы опять возвращаемся к детренду. http://www.rambler.ru/dict/enru/01/cf/43.shtml
