I don't think he will be happy to hear that his roots are little bit further afield. | organigram есть в BrE, хотя намног чаще используется organOgram. На французском, кстати, Organigramme ;-). Так шта-аа, смеятся тут нечему :-) |

Susan, i dnn't mind u laughing off on this one, laughing on all other occasions, not at all, but English is too expansive a language, dividing whole nations speaking it as it is their birthright. gel - will all due respect - никогда не слышал, что запуск ракеты прошел по _штатному расписанию_ (хотя слышал: "по расписанию" или наоборот, "был произведен внештатно") впрочем, то что я не слышал не значит, что не :) мне попадалось в основном в значении орг. структуры (персонала), т.е. штатное расписание - расписание штатов орг-ции - Establishment |

Disclaimer: I didnt deny the existence of the word. I said I laughed at it becasue the word is ABSURD. after _03's post of 12.07.2007 12:42 i not longer thought it doesnt exist so Aiduza, you didnt need to jump in. The word is absurd, but if they use it, fine. And about linguists and translators knowing more than a native speaker - it can happen in some cases, but certainly not all. If a native speaker is not an expert in the field you translate regularly, sure, it can happen that you will know more. But be careful, you don't always know more. |

Nina, how about "roster"? I would not say that I got what the asking person meant even in Russian without the situation. However, probably you would like to comment on the differences of the meanings of the words like full-time schedule organizational chart roster ? |

А если речь идет все-таки о штатном расписании компании - stuff list не нравится? *translators knowing more than a native speaker - it can happen in some cases, but certainly not all.* |

я заметила, что когда речь на настоящем форуме доходит до спора, то участники зачастую переходят на личные притензии и выпады. Нина79, я всегда думала, что слово "пупок" - звучит абсурдно, но от этого он так не перестал называться. :) |

Может, не совсем в тему, но я этот анекдот очень люблю: Пригласили в "Динамо" форварда из монгольского клуба "Джигучи Кызылорда". На первой же тренировке тренер собирает нападающих, берет в руки мяч и говорит: - Мяч, мля! Потом кладет мяч в ворота, показывает на них и говорит: - Гол, мля!
