operational function

.לוֹגִ All operational activities across the chain of command that requires a number of measures to be taken and, at certain levels, a coordination of the implementation of specific structures in order to guarantee overall efficiency. The implementation of an operational function requires: a dedicated functional direction; dedicated assets and units, at least at certain levels; one or more functional chains coordination of procedures, assets or specialized units. The weight of the various operational functions is not necessarily homogeneous. There are three categories of operational functions: 1. "universal"; 2. land "engagement"; 3. "environment". (FRA)
