milit., logist.	A type of tactical weapon which uses rockets to destroy targets. The basic types of rocket weapon are land-based, airborne and naval multiple-launch rocket systems. Their efficiency when firing unguided missiles with substantial dispersion is derived from multiple charges and the ability to strike targets without warning over large areas with one salvo. Airborne and naval launchers differ from the other types by their comparatively small size, lightness and simplicity of design. (UKR/NATO)
