milit., logist. Status of a unit placed, for employment purposes, at the disposal of a tactical echelon which already has units of this type, in order to increase its capabilities. 2. In artillery usage, a tactical mission in which one artillery unit augments the fire of another artillery unit. Regrouping involves the transfer of forces from one commander to another, by decision of a senior commander.
