The reinforcement of major formations, tactical formations and units is achieved by the addition of new major formations, tactical formations and units; regrouping; attachment of reinforcements from the various armed forces, arms of the service, specialized support troops; employment of a senior commander's assets in support of the operations of a major formation, tactical formation or unit. Regrouping involves the transfer of forces from one commander to another, by decision of a senior commander. Forces reassigned as reinforcements are temporarily subordinated to the commander, while supporting forces remain subordinate to their immediate superiors. (UKR/NATO)
