Med. A measure taken to prevent or treat disease or to improve health in other ways. Examples of interventions include preventive vaccines, drugs, and palliative care.
Mil., Logist. Initial phase of operations during which a force is engaged mainly in order to solve the military and security issues of a crisis. It is aimed at the military defeat of the enemy, the end of combats or the reduction of the level of violence. This phase, combining coercion and violence control actions paves the way for stabilisation. There might be an overlap between these two phases. 2.
